DPA TOP 12 ASSIGNMENT WINNERS - GALLERY SHOWING COMING IN FEBRUARY 2009 SPONSORED BY PANASONIC AND MPIX

The monthly assignment competition orchestrated by the Digital Photo Academy staff enables thousands of photo enthusiasts from around the country to persue their passion in photography. Beginning in August of 2007, students were invited to submit their photographic interpretations of different themes suggested by the 55 DPA instructors around the country as well as various museum and gallery curators where the DPA classes are held each month and the DPA staff members headquartered in New York City. Back then, there were only a few hundred eligible competitors, but Digital Photo Academy now has over 3500 student alumni and that number continues to grow at a rapid rate (click here to if you would like to join up or learn more).

This first annual exhibition features classic photographic themes like sunrises, fall foliage and landscapes and since that time, the themes have evolved to topical themes like "Photographing Need" and "A New Beginning," but those themes only began with work that will be featured in a traveling exhibition in February 2010. Digital Photo Academy is pleased to announce the Top 12 Monthly Assignment Winners from 2007/2008! Please review below the scheduled dates and locations that will host the traveling exhibition in 10 of the museums and art galleries where our Digital Photo Academy classes are held around the country in February 2009.

Light Wave Studios Gallery in Bethesda, MD, on Friday, February 13 - Thursday, February 19. Opening night party on Friday, February 13th during community gallery walk.

Griffin Museum of Photography in Boston on Friday, February 13. Opening night party on Saturday, February 14.
