New York: Photoshop 101

I recently completed Digital Manipulation class on 4/18/09. It was originally scheduled to be taught by another instructor but Tiago Nunes ended up teaching the class. This was a very positive experience for me.

By lunchtime, I felt like I've learned what I was hoping to know (and there was still time for more learning!) The class exceeded my expectations. He ventured away from the class slides as needed but went back to it to make sure that the itinerary was covered. Tiago gauged from our questions and facial expressions how he should move forward (i.e. expand, use another example, or move to the next tool).

With the abundance of online articles, instructions on digital photography and books, I consider an in-person class successful if the instructor can provide something that I cannot get teaching myself and buying a book. Also, there are many people talented in their field who may not be able to teach simply because verbal skills are not their forte.  This was not the case with my 4/18 class, which I was very helpful.

Tiago and Amy have set the bar fairly high with my first DPA class :o)

I've signed up for future DPA workshops. As a new DSLR user, I'm looking forward to my upcoming classes.

Thanks
Ruth
