by Doug Dietiker
I got what I was looking for. I have been using Photoshop for a while but never had any formal training, this class filled in the gaps for me.

Yes, it was an exciting ride home last night! It hailed just as I got to Broad Street, luckily it didn't last too long.

I had a great day yesterday. I'm so used to doing this type of thing "solo" so it was very nice to share the experience with other people interested in the same thing I am.

Dear Hinda and John,
Today was spectacular - one of the best classes I've ever had (and I've taken quite a few). Hinda, you made it easy to ask questions (so that I didn't feel stupid) and gave clear explanations. You gave just the right amount of guidance and then let me try it on my own. You were super attentive to us both and seemed to know just what we needed. You pushed me to try all sorts of new things and helped me to succeed at learning them.

John

Thanks so much for the detail explanations in the class on Saturday. You took your time to explain and answer any question we asked.  That is the true measure of a Teacher.  I hope to continue learning photography.

Hope you can use some of the workshop photo to ilustrate the Digital Photo Academy  web site, so please let me know if I can be of any help and if you happen to come again to the Northwest, let's have a beer together... :^)

John: Thank you for a great day.  I learned more yesterday than I did in all my other courses/activities with the exception of the first class I took with you last December!  I am interested in your thoughts about the photos I have included.  I am going to do a small book about the day and I will make and send you a copy.

As usual the class was excellent. It was educational as well as social.  I learned a lot. I am looking forward to the next class. Mahalia said that she would never look at a picture the same again.  I have enjoyed everyone of the classes. My photographic skills have improved exponentially since I have started taking your classes.  The best pictures that I have ever taken were taken at the Time square photo shoot on Saturday.  sorry I did catch up with the juggler and Tanya.  I already have assignments with some friends for this Friday night. Thanks for dinner.

Alex,

Thanks for a great class yesterday.  I will post a couple of my pictures sometime next week as I am going to be out of town the rest of this week.
I went outside today around 5:30 and did some shooting on my wife's flowers and experimented with fill flash and other things learned yesterday.
Trying to make sure I shoot something everyday to keep honing the skills.

Seattle: Understanding Composition

by Cynthia Gottman
My husband Scott and I took the composition class a couple of weeks ago on a lovely Sunday afternoon on  Mercer Island.  We both enjoyed it immensely and are still  talking about the afternoon at Phil's studio!  This is the second class I've taken with Ken.  He is a fantastic teacher and clearly enjoys working with students.  He is very generous with his time and has responded to many emails I have sent - many with images.  Scott was amazed as well.  I am enjoying photography again thanks to Ken.

Hi Ron,

Thank you again for your time today. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot more about Photoshop today in a couple hrs. than in all of the days I have spent trying to figure it out myself.

Hi Frank,

I am writing you for two reasons.  First, thank you so very much for yesterday.  For the longest time I have been fearful to enter the digital world because I was so comfortable with film.  When my camera got stolen, I never had the desire to continue because that camera was almost a part of me.

Hi Richard – the session I attended was this past Sunday and after talking to me and the other person who was scheduled to attend, Joel did switch the workshop to a “regular” advanced class and we both appreciated it. It was a great class, Joel was wonderful and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Just wanted to say thanks for the lesson today. You hit on several things I was struggling with (because I don't read manuals...) and I think I'll be ready to progress from here.

Both classes were absolutely amazing and made me want to know more.  It prompted me to go shoot the following day instead of other plans I had made.
